Introduction & Thesis

Dumplings come in all different shapes, sizes, and regions throughout the globe. With so many variations is it possible to still call them all dumplings? This website will inform readers about the origins of dumplings and also the regional variations. The two forms looked at specifically will be Chinese dumplings and chicken and dumplings from the United States. Throughout the analysis, the site will demonstrate the idea that dumplings in all of their variations are a hearty meal to be eaten in community, impacting the cultural identity of those who partake. As the food evolves over time, the communal aspect remains intact bringing people together and creating memories among people all over the globe. 

The various images shown display some of the various different forms of Chinese and N.American dumplings that will be discussed throughout the site. They vary with ingredients, preparation, and even the way in which they are eaten.
